Thermage®

Some patients notice an early change, but measurable results generally appear gradually during the two to six months following treatment. Results may last approximately one to two years depending on skin condition, age and the natural ageing process. Individual results vary.

Thermage® is often performed as a single treatment rather than a series. Some patients choose maintenance treatments, but the timing should be based on their individual response, goals and practitioner’s recommendation.

During treatment, you may feel alternating heat and cooling, and mild to moderate discomfort is possible. Many patients return to their usual activities immediately. Temporary redness, tenderness or swelling may occur, so the treatment is better described as having minimal rather than no downtime.

Reported reactions include temporary redness, swelling, tenderness, bruising or changes in sensation. Less common reactions can include burns, blistering, scarring, surface irregularities, lumps, nodules or pigment changes.

Thermage® should not be used in patients with a pacemaker, implanted cardioverter, defibrillator or another implanted electrical device. Tell your practitioner about pregnancy or breastfeeding, diabetes, autoimmune conditions, epilepsy, cold sores, permanent makeup, tattoos, previous fillers and all other medical conditions or treatments before proceeding.

Thermage® uses radiofrequency energy to support collagen remodelling and improve the appearance of wrinkles and skin laxity. Ultherapy Prime® uses focused ultrasound energy and real-time ultrasound imaging to target selected tissue depths. Neither treatment is automatically better for every patient; the appropriate option depends on the treatment area, degree of laxity, medical history and desired outcome.
